Aftermarket or OEM: We help you choose!

When you’re in the market for parts and services, you likely browse around a bit looking for a good price. During your hunt you may come up on aftermarket products that are less expensive than OEM parts and this where we get lots of questions! So what’s better, aftermarket or OEM?

Aftermarket parts and accessories can have some great perks but you should be wary before loading your vehicle up with parts and materials that are not covered as part of your manufacturer’s warranty. While the price tag can sometimes lure you in, the quality of an aftermarket part is not always as high. The part may not fit or install as easily which can end up costing you more in repairs and shipping than you would save just going with OEM parts. We know that some clients are reluctant to order in OEM parts because it feels like the process of getting their part will take longer. Many of our Hino clients are surprised to learn that our Parts Distribution Center is located in Mississauga, Ontario, down the road from our North York dealership. What that means is that when your truck is off the road, the part that is required to fix your Hino truck is closer than you think, making for a speedier service turnaround time. Getting an OEM part from us means you spend as much time on the road as possible, and the fact that we just have to put in a call to Mississauga to get you Hino back up and running is great advantage for our customers.

Mississauga’s Hino Parts Distribution Center carries parts for all Hino trucks, new and old, and we often get the part we’re looking for within 24 to 48 hours. Currently, Hino Canada has a spare parts fill rate of 96 percent, on average, which is one of the best fill rates across all makes of trucks in North America. And for anything that we don’t have in stock, Mississauga has established connections with the USA distribution center. If you choose to go the aftermarket route, you may end up saving some money up front and it’s even possible to get a very high quality product, what you lose is the warranty, and guarantee of fit for your truck that could leave you without a vehicle when it comes time for repairs. Talk to your trusted service representative and see what parts and accessories will work with you and your vehicles.

Contact us today to learn more about why more Canadian truck drivers are choosing Hino every year. It’s not just our Mississauga Parts Distribution Center, but that certainly is one of the many great features of driving a Somerville Hino here in Toronto and the GTA.
