Who doesn’t like a good prank?

April 1st, 2017 marks April Fool’s Day; a  day when practical jokes, big and small, mean and good-spirited, can be played on anybody. The nature of the jokes range from reporting on fake news to arranging something that’s sure to get a good laugh.

Although it’s not officially a public holiday in Canada, in celebration of April Fool’s, we’re bringing you a series of pranks that work for those who drive a truck. These jokes are meant to be fun, and always remember that if you think the joke might physically disrupt how the truck operates, (like placing sugar in the gas tank) it’s probably not a good idea. But, if you decide to go ahead with it anyways, our Service Department will come to the rescue!

Here are a few of our favourite practical jokes:

Crack in the Windshield

Automotive glass repair, on any other day, is no joke! If you want to see someone panic, buy a broken glass sticker and place it on the windshield of a new Hino truck. These stickers are inexpensive, and look completely genuine. Some even go so far as to come with a fake rock or baseball attached. Stand by for results.

Body in the Trunk

We saw a lot of this at Halloween in the GTA. Visit the nearest costume store and purchase a fake “dead” arm. Position it so that the arm is visible to fellow drivers. If you drive a Hino 195, you can fit the arm half inside your cab, and close the passenger door so it sticks out. If you’re driving something bigger, like the Hino 338, you can have a little bit more fun and place the arm hanging out of the body of the truck.

The Travelling Cup

Slip a magnet to the underside of a Tim Horton’s cup and place the now-magnetic cup to the hood of your truck. Enjoy the frantic honks from fellow drivers who are trying to let you know your “coffee” is about to splash down the windshield.

Fake Parking Ticket

What’s the best way to ruin someone’s day? An outrageous, fake parking ticket, of course. This one’s easy to pull off, especially if you know what colour the parking tickets are in your neighbourhood.

Fake For Sale Sign

Place a “For Sale” sign in the rear window of your friend’s brand new truck and try not to laugh as their cell phone rings off the hook all day. Some people really don’t notice the sign, which makes it even more funny.
